How to write an FAQ page AI assistants will quote
Updated · 2 min read
AI assistants answer questions, so pages that directly answer customers' questions are some of the easiest content for them to use. A good FAQ page is one of the quickest wins in AI search.
1. Use the questions customers actually ask
Don't guess. Collect questions from phone calls, emails, reviews, sales conversations, and the “People also ask” box in Google. Your Eudoxia report also lists the questions where AI recommends competitors instead of you.
Write each question in the customer's own words: “Do you take walk-ins?”, not “Appointment policy”.
2. Answer in the first sentence
Start each answer with the direct answer, then add detail. AI assistants tend to quote the first one or two sentences.
- Weak: “We pride ourselves on flexible scheduling to suit your lifestyle.”
- Strong: “Yes, we're open Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm, and we keep two emergency slots every weekday.”
3. Be specific and local
Include real numbers, places and conditions where you can: typical prices or price ranges, areas you cover, response times, languages spoken, insurance or payment options. Specific, factual answers are more useful to customers and easier for AI to trust.
4. Add FAQ structured data
FAQ structured data marks which text is the question and which is the answer. Our free FAQ schema generator creates both the structured data and ready-made HTML. The questions and answers must also be visible on the page.
Afterwards, test the page with the structured data checker.
5. Keep it current
Outdated hours, prices or services are worse than no answer. Review your FAQ whenever something changes, and at least every few months.
Questions
How many questions should an FAQ page have?
Enough to cover what customers really ask. For most local businesses that's 8 to 20. Quality and accuracy matter more than quantity.
Should each service page have its own FAQ?
Yes, if customers ask service-specific questions. A short FAQ on each service page often works better than one long general page.
